Our Mission
Our mission is to promote resilience in children and adolescents, and to assist in the prevention of anxiety, depression and youth suicide through the implementation of the world-renowned resilience programs, Fun FRIENDS, FRIENDS for Life, and My FRIENDS in Australian schools and communities of low socio-economic status; culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds; Indigenous heritage; and regional and remote areas, including those affected by flood or drought.
What is resilience?
Resilience refers to a person’s ability to “bounce back” from adversity, and to achieve good outcomes regardless of life events, circumstances or background.
Research shows that resilient children are happier, do better at school, have increased confidence, form good relationships, show fewer behavioural problems, take on and persist with challenging tasks, and are more able to communicate effectively.
